Brain-Tanned Buckskin, Small Deer, Hide #3

This hide is small and thick, but soft and stretchy. Because of how the deer was skinned, not all of it could be saved. ~28"x20" in most spots, except the appendage on the left side of the photo which is wider. But this section of hide is of great quality and would be perfect for moccasins because of its combination of thickness and softness, as well as many other crafts requiring durability.

Smokey aroma from the smoking process will fade overtime. That smoking gives buckskin its color and allows it to be machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water and minimal detergent, but I recommend washing by hand. Dry flat or hang to dry.
